Anthony Vincent Fernandez
Associate Professor – Group Leader
Anthony Vincent Fernandez is trained as a philosopher. His research focuses on phenomenological theory and methods as applied in the psychological, social, and health sciences, with an emphasis on psychopathology. He leads the AIP research group and currently leads a project on experiences of mood disturbances in depression.
Peter Stilwell
Postdoctoral Researcher
Peter Stilwell is trained as an interdisciplinary health researcher. His research focuses on pain, selfhood, and suffering. He joined the group as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions postdoctoral fellow and now leads a new project translating pain theory to practice.
Enara García
Postdoctoral Researcher
Enara Garcia is trained as a philosopher, with a background in neuroscience and gestalt therapy. Her research focuses on affectivity, psychotherapy, and enactivism. She joined the group as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions postdoctoral fellow and is carrying out her postdoctoral project on affective atmospheres in psychotherapy.
Suraiya Luecke
PhD Fellow
Suraiya Luecke is trained as an anthropologist, cognitive scientist, and ecologist. Her research focuses on embodied practices, wellbeing, and the environment, using a combination of qualitative and biological methods. She joined the group as a PhD fellow funded by the Danish Ministry of Culture and is carrying out her PhD project on the physio-phenomenology of freediving (underwater breath-hold diving).
Linnea Brønnum Hansen
Master’s Student
Linnea Brønnum Hansen is a master’s student in psychology. Her research focuses on the intersection between health psychology and neuropsychology. She joined the group as a pre-graduate research year student and is carrying out a project using phenomenological qualitative methods to study the experiences of functional-dissociative seizures, including how these experiences are altered by psychological treatment.
Previous Members
Martin Vestergaard Kristiansen was a Postdoctoral Researcher with AIP from 2025–2026 on the project, “Understanding Experiences of Mood Disturbances in Depression: A Pilot Study”. He is now Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology, Aarhus University.
